How to respond to an HVR verification request
For HR and payroll teams: what is requested, what is optional, and what you can decline.

What you received
A request code and a named requesting context: a former or current employee of your organization authorized an employment verification. Enter the code at HVRScreen.com, confirm the organization matches your notice, and verify your work email. No account is created.
What is asked, and what is not required
Employment dates and title are requested. Compensation is optional, and the field is hidden entirely where a jurisdiction prohibits the request. You can decline any field with a reason, decline the whole request, or state that your organization uses a third-party verification service — future requests will route there instead.
- Requested: employment dates, position, current or former status
- Optional: compensation, where permitted and where your policy allows
- Always available: decline, transfer to a colleague, or route to your verification service
Certify and keep a receipt
When you submit, you certify the response and receive a receipt listing exactly which fields you provided, which you declined, and when. Download it or have it emailed — it is your audit record as much as ours.
Spotting a fraudulent request
HVR never asks a verifier for bank details, full government identifiers, or payment. If a request does, or the organization named does not match your notice, stop and report it from the Verifier Center — we pause the request while we investigate.
